Real Madrid soccer star Casemiro launches esports team
The famous soccer player announced yesterday that he will be launching CaseEsports, a new Brazilian CS:GO team.

Real Madrid defensive midfielder and Brazilian international Casemiro is the latest of several professional athletes to launch an esports org/team.

CaseEsports will be a pro team that will initially compete in Counter Strike: Global Offensive and will make their debut in the qualifier for DreamHack Masters Winter on November 3; CaseEsports have signed an entire all-Brazilian roster.
The team consists of Paulo “land1n” Felipe, Denis “dzt” Fisher, Felipe “delboNi” Delboni, Yan “yepz” Pedretti, and Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira, will be based in Madrid, as the soccer player looks to establish his new organisation in Spain.
Although the entire team is made up of Brazilian players, the team will be based in Madrid where Casemiro lives and plays soccer professionally, and he will also provide the team with a gaming house and office.

“This team was created out of a hobby of mine that I really enjoy,” said Casemiro. “I wanted to take it to a professional level, and just like in my career, I want them to be the best.
“I know that creating a new team and winning titles will take time and require a lot of work, but I hope that the players and the fans will really enjoy this project.”
Casemiro is known for streaming CS:GO on Twitch from time to time and is friends with popular Brazilian CS:GO pros, FalleN and coldzera.

With regards to the roster, land1n and dzt are the most experienced players on the lineup, having competed under NA team Tempo Storm and Brazilian team paiN Gaming together. Yepz and n1ssim are former FURIA Academy and delboNi is a former Imperial player.
Over the past few months and the past year, there has been a trend of professional athletes starting up their own esports teams or organizations.
Earlier this year, David Beckham was announced as a co-owner for London based Guild Esports, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster started Team Diverge and Manchester City striker launched KRÜ Esports last week.
